We’ve been keeping eyes on True Canna Genetics for a while now, patiently awaiting news of new cannabis strains from this talented seed company from the UK.

The brains behind the breeding at True Canna has a wealth of experience from learning his trade with such powerhouse operations as Reservoir Seeds and Connoisseur Genetics.

True Canna released their first strain, Terparella, some time ago to critical acclaim.  Connoisseurs loved the rapid flowering time, monstrous yields and highly desirable resin production.  Ever since, we have been inundated with enquiries asking for more from this small, but perfectly formed seed company.

Well, now the wait is over, and just like buses, True Canna’s new strains have come all at once.  Three new strains (THREE no less!) are now available from Pure Sativa and we couldn’t be more excited:

The first of the three newbies from True Canna is Broad Leaf Black; a deep, classic Indica strain derived from a cross of Black Domina x SFV/Chemdog.

In another example of True Canna Genetics style of borrowing genetics from world class seedbanks, here they harness the dark, delicious properties of Sensi Seeds’ Black Domina and then embellish the strain with SFV/Chem which gives a robust structure to the plants as well as adding that gorgeous kushy flavour and aroma.  True Canna’s test grows produced high yields and superb trichome coverage.  Broad Leaf Black marijuana seeds are sure to be popular with souvenir seed collectors who have a penchant for a deep Indica.

Next up is Sagan’s Star – another Indica-dominant strain with a lineage that really raises some eyebrows.  A vintage cut of Paradise Seeds’ legendary Sensi Star is pollinated with SFV/Chem to create this new marijuana variety.  True Canna’s test grows, conducted in legal conditions, demonstrate the vigorous nature of Sagan’s Star.  Flowering in 9-10 weeks, these plants produce solid nugs with strong lemon aromas and taste.  Again, resin production was observed to be very high, with even larger fan leaves developing a sticky, crystalline coating.

Finally, we come to The Truth.  We first became aware of this special strain while we were in Amsterdam for the High Times Cannabis Cup back in November.  The Truth clinched second place in the Best Indica category, only narrowly losing out to Colorado Bubba from The Vault Genetics.

The Truth is based on Triangle Kush – an elite kush strain with a mysterious lineage that was gifted to True Canna some time ago.  They hit the Triangle with the SFV/Chem and let nature do the rest.  Legal test grows produced superb results with large yields of trichome covered buds as standard.  The Truth is a taste explosion of tropical fruit underpinned by kushy, musky undertones.  A truly special strain that is sure to win more industry awards in the near future.

The guys at True Canna assure us that there is much more to come from them in 2015 – Pure Sativa will be here first with the seeds as usual, so stay tuned to our blog and social media feeds for the latest news.
