Terpenes or terps for short are the main constituents of essential oils that occur naturally in most plants and flowers.

Among other properties, terpenes are known for their pronounced scents and flavours that tend to define the plant’s character. For example; forest pine trees contain the terpene alpha pinene – this is what gives pine needles their distinctive smell.

Unsurprisingly, terpenes also exist in cannabis plants. In fact, there are over 100 known terpenes found in different strains of cannabis. The sharp lemon flavour found in strains such as Lemon Haze, for example, is largely down to the presence of the limonene terpene that pervades that particular variety of marijuana.

The PureSativa range of terpenes are 100% natural and organic.
